Why are people still trying to stretch the IT band? It takes 2000lb force to increase length 1% some stretch. It resists tension naturally??

A tweet today morning reminded me that there is a good reason that I have not been telling folks to stretch their ITB (Ilio-Tibial Band). 

That over-enthusiastic physiotherapist or your own good self self treating for your knee pain, should stop wasting time stretching ITB. Start working on fixing overall muscle imbalance. Think why the pain is coming, what's causing it? Not just where is the pain? 

There is no one super-hero muscle, ligament or tendon. They all work in synchronisation with all the others. Work on everything.
