I roam. Whether by sea or overland. By boat, foot or motorcycle. The world is a wonderful playground & I intend to continue to explore our amazing backyard until I am unable to.
— Grant Maughan

Grant, a 51 year old teenager, likes to call himself - an Australian, a seafarer, an ultra-runner, triathlete, surfer & general adventurer. He'll be running 333 km at the 7th edition of La Ultra - The High.

Grant has just come after having ranked 6th in this year's Badwater ultra and won the Iditarod Trail Invitational 130 mile race (36 hrs 39 min) which qualifies him for 350 mile race next year. He has previously come 9th (2015), 2nd (2014) and 2nd (2013) at Badwater, with a personal best of 24 hrs 43 min 8 sec in 2014. He has also run Spartathlon (2015), Marathon Des Sables, and more than 20 races with a distance of more than 100 miles.

La Ultra - The High is an underdog of an ultra race. It is so much more than the so called tough races out there. That’s why I wanted to come and run it.
