Prologue: Why me

It is very easy to give up on life. I’ve been fortunate to have been guided by the very best on how to carry on with life—running being the most important of them all.

That’s exactly why I call myself a student of running and pain, for life. It’s a never-ending journey, and when it finally does get over, it doesn’t bother us any more.

I have been fortunate to have been mentored by some eminent and experienced doctors, therapists and scientists from different fields like anaesthesiology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, osteopathy, physiotherapy, psychology, and so on, who had a special interest in pain. The best part is that they came from different countries with diverse cultures, such as the UK, Australia, the US, Canada, France, South Africa, Germany, Finland, Iran and Greece. This has given me a comprehensive overview of pain.
