When was the last time you almost died?

I almost died a few minute back, probably at 12:53 am on 1st November 2016. I was getting super late for a flight. I took the leap of faith, literally, and jumped off a few floors, being over-confident that I'll be able to hold on to the railing on the floor below and the phone cable on the floor further below, just because I had done it very comfortably on a few occasions earlier.  I had a big bag (luggage) in one hand. I had taken parkour running to the very next level.  Someone could have thought I had a death wish but I really knew what I was doing. I was doing well for time, just ok, and suddenly I missed the cable. I took a tumble. The fall seemed to be forever. For eternity. I could see myself falling as if it was someone else. I finally landed on top of the steel-roofs of a JJ (Jhuggi Jhopdi) Colony, or at least that's what I thought it to be. There were a couple of friends behind me who were almost wanting to warn me of the consequences if things went wrong. One was Norboo and the other was Vijay. On seeing what had just happened, without hesitating, Norboo just  jumped right behind me and just when I was going to fall off the tin-roofs, he just held my hand. And suddenly my eyes opened. I had been dreaming all along.

And this is the first tweet I see after writing this post. :)

During that fall, I came face to face with all that matters to me. It was in super slow motion. I had no regrets. I actually was good to go. At that moment, I was glad I had lived life on my terms. The Rajat way!

Life is temporary. Stop assuming that its permanent. You will definitely die. Stop taking this one life you have, for granted. Start living, now.
