If I can't do, I doubt if anyone else ever can

It is unfortunate that an experienced Indian ultra-runner, Mr BS, took a swipe at this year’s La Ultra - The High and it’s participants suggesting it was staged and lied about.

This was the screenshot shared with me earlier today (6.9.2019) an ultra enthusiast. This post was deleted from this page by the time I got down to replying to it, i.e. 1300 hrs.

I wrote on his fb page but he didn’t bother responding.

I am no Ram that I can trust you enough even if you only stayed one night out with a stranger. Anyways, who was there to back up your innocent story.
— A dhobi's (washerman) conversation with his wife, overheard by Ram a few millenniums ago in Ayodhya

But then I am no Ram either that I’ll make my participants go through an agni pariksha. More than a hundred people witnessed what transpired at Leh-Ladakh during edition-X (10th edition) of La Ultra - The High. There were multiple movie makers as well and runners and crew members from 6-7 different countries.

Why do I suspect that it is La Ultra - The High that is being spoken about since our race or participants aren’t mentioned in the original (now deleted) post? Because the dude in question (I don’t mention the name because I am not sure what his real name is and I am no big fan of pseudo-names) put screenshots from La Ultra - The High’s facebook page.

He should have bothered to get his facts straight. Those distances weren’t run at 15000 or 18000 ft. It was at 13,000 to 11,000 ft.

The above screenshot from La Ultra - The High fb page suggests Jason ran 36 kms in 4hrs 14min.

Below are FacebookLive videos which were conveniently ignored. Now judge for yourself.

Below Jason is at 495 kms (~13,000ft altitude) running with 17 year old Ella from Sotogrande International School, Spain. Someone now might doubt Ella’s age. Yes, she ended up running 100ish kms over 3-4 days.

Jason is about ~520 kms (11,000ft approx. altitude) or so. Jyotsana is in the video too what had participated in 222 kms last year and managed to run 205ish kms. The year before, as 17 years old, she got to the finish line of 111 kms, the youngest to do so. We have Mandeep on FBLive too, who finished 333kms last year and was crewing for Praveen. Pace anyone?

Jason at ~529 kms (11,000 ft approx). Maybe Mr BS wants to keep pace with him.

Jason is at ~542kms (11,000 ft approx.), just 13 kms to finish. He’s in the video from 54 seconds on.

Jason at about ~545 kms (11,000ft approx). He’s in video from 00:59 onwards till 1:11.

Now, since you’ve seen for yourself what crazy speed was Jason at for last 50 odds of his 555 kms, that you would probably only remotely appreciate what crazy stuff was going on that day at edition-X of La Ultra - The High.

A bit more of Mr BS’s antics.

Not that I need to answer to your question, but acclimatisation is crucial, but then you wouldn’t understand.

Praveen is too polite and nice.

Who needs enemies when you are blessed with ‘fraternity friends’ like this! Rather than encouraging an amazing feat, he didn’t fail in making himself look a little more than silly.
