La Ultra - The High journey
La Ultra - The High (www.thehigh.in) is the cruelest & highest altitude ultra marathon out there. It's held in Leh-Ladakh region in the Indian Himalayas. A total distance of 333 km have to be covered on foot in a time period of 72 hours, crossing three of the highest mountain passes all above 17,400 ft.

Six runners from around the globe join to take on the high altitude ultra-marathon that is becoming known as one of the toughest races on earth. In their efforts to complete the 137-mile course, over two of the highest motorable passes in the world they will fend off pulmonary edema, hypothermia, and fatigue and between each of them only one can finish first but all will suffer, in ULTRA HIGH.

At La Ultra - The High, I try to make a Dangerous event Difficult. But most humans suffer from the 'Immortal till we die' syndrome. Rules up there are for the safety of the runners. That is my first priority. I would never ever compromise on that.
Leap of Faith

Genesis of La Ultra - The High
Khirki to Leh... it needs to start somewhere, with someone. Thanks a million miles to all who believed in my crazy idea when there was nothing to show for it. The journey started in July of 2010. Now La Ultra - The High is a name to reckon with in Ultra running world globally.
